Make Every Word Count in Your Copy

Some words work harder than others."Get our guide" is functional."Unlock our free guide" is compelling —"unlock" triggers curiosity,"free" triggers desire. This tool scans your text for these high-impact words, groups them by psychological trigger, and measures their density so you can calibrate your persuasive power.

Using the Analysis

Check category balance — if all your power words are urgency words ("now,""hurry,""limited"), your copy may feel pushy. Mix in trust words ("proven,""guaranteed") and curiosity words ("secret,""surprising") for a more balanced emotional appeal. The highlighted view makes it easy to see where your persuasive language clusters and where it thins out.

What are power words?
Power words are words that trigger an emotional or psychological response in readers. They make headlines click-worthy, calls to action compelling, and copy persuasive. Words like"free,""secret,""proven,""instant," and"guaranteed" are classic examples. They work because they appeal to fundamental human motivations — curiosity, fear, greed, urgency, and belonging.
What categories does this tool detect?
The analyzer groups power words into six categories: urgency (now, hurry, limited, deadline), trust (proven, guaranteed, certified, research-backed), curiosity (secret, hidden, revealed, surprising), emotion (incredible, breathtaking, heartwarming), exclusivity (exclusive, members-only, invitation, elite), and action (discover, unlock, transform, boost). Each category triggers a different psychological response.
How many power words should I use?
For headlines, one or two power words are usually enough —"7 Proven Ways to Boost Your Traffic" has two (proven, boost). For body copy, aim for power words to make up 3 to 5 percent of your text. Too many feels manipulative; too few feels flat. The density score helps you find the balance.
Does this tool check headlines specifically?
The tool analyzes whatever text you paste — it works equally well for headlines, email subject lines, social media posts, landing page copy, or full articles. For headlines, paste just the headline to see its power word ratio. For articles, paste the full text for an overall density analysis.
Are power words manipulative?
Power words are a tool, not a trick. Every writer uses them — from journalists to novelists to marketers. The difference between persuasion and manipulation is honesty: using"proven" when you have proof is persuasion; using it when you do not is deception. The words themselves are neutral; your intent determines the ethics.
